Eight girls from Forms 5 and 6 represented the school at an IAPS qualifying gala. Mrs Mackett reports, “We travelled to Berkhamsted where we swam against strong opposition from Berkhamsted, Bedford Girls’ School, York House, St Joseph’s in the Park, and Aldenham. The girls swam very competitively and with excellent take-over skills. We will have to wait until the end of term to learn whether or not we have qualified for the finals; 4000 swimmers are taking part from 250 schools in 28 regional galas! Phew! The gala at Berkhamsted was well run and we are fortunate to be able to attend a high quality, well managed regional round so close to St Hilda’s.” Mrs Mackett, who is a qualified swimming official, was one of the judges at the gala.
