A Maths Filled Week!
It was ‘Maths Week England’ and everyone has been busy trying their hand at numerous different out of the box maths activities this week.
They’ve attempted challenging puzzles in an international puzzle competition the school has signed up to called Puzzle of the Week. There have been lots of daily puzzles solved, investigation of pentominoes and the creation of a whole school Teetreehedron - a giant Christmas tree created from tetrahedrons.
Some of the older pupils also took part in an online interactive 'Maths is Magic' workshop where over a 1000 children from schools across the country joined together to have a go at solving a range of puzzles and challenges.
In addition to this pupils have taken part in the Maths Association’s Primary Maths Challenge and the Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge, all online. In between, the girls have been super busy with their times tables on Times Table Rockstars.
The week has been a wonderful opportunity for the girls to see first hand through practical exercises how interesting and engaging maths can be.
