Form 1’s Afternoon at Bushey Museum

Form 1 braved the stormy weather and trekked to Bushey Museum to find out more about the types of toys children used to play with. They were introduced to a 91 year old teddy bear and looked at the condition that it was in, commenting on what it looked like and what made it an old bear. They compared this with little Ted who was new with thick fluffy fur and a bright red ribbon. The children were introduced to Dog Dog, a push along toy, and had the chance not just to describe what he looked like but also to enjoy a ride. All the children had the opportunity to play with the toys on display. They were introduced to a new word, ‘replica,’ and how this applied to some of the toys. Fortunately the rain had stopped for the return walk. The children relished the experience and talked about it all the way back to school.
