Form 6 Science
This week Form 6 have been learning about blood components and their functions. They learnt that within the blood there are red blood cells which deliver oxygen (postmen/women), white blood cells which get rid of harmful microbes (police officers), and platelets (doctors) which help to clot the blood to heal cuts. They made models to represent the different parts, using yellow coloured water for the plasma, red dyed cheerios for the red blood cells, marshmallows for the white blood cells and rice for the platelets. They then evaluated how well they thought the model represented the parts of the blood.
