Visit from the Mayor of Hertsmere
We were thrilled to find out that our efforts for Clean for the Queen had won the school £200 towards environmental improvements, and we were even more delighted to welcome the Mayor of Hertsmere, Councillor Martin Worster, to St Hilda’s to present us with our certificate. The school really pulled together for the Clean for the Queen initiative and it was wonderful to see the pupils’ hard work recognised in this way. The Mayor gave an interesting and entertaining talk and then invited questions from the audience, and our girls had a vast array of comments and queries for him, from “What is the typical structure of your day?” to “Do you sleep in your necklace?”! Councillor Worster answered brilliantly and the girls were so excited to meet him. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our Clean for the Queen success. Many thanks to Hertsmere Borough Council for organising such a fun and worthwhile campaign.
